The AEL'2016 will be held in conjunction with the 9th IEEE International Conference on Ubi-media Computing (U-Media’2016). The AEL'2016 Program Committee invites submissions of unpublished and original work – completed or in progress contributing to the 2016 International Workshop on Advanced E-Learning. AEL'2016 becomes an international major forum for researchers and practitioners in various disciplines to share and exchange of experiences in the emerging research area of advanced E-learning. It covers all aspects of pedagogical principles, designs, ergonomics and technological issues, especially helping or exploring healthy, happy and effective learning in ubiquitous or pervasive learning environments with wearable devices, neural sensors or related advanced pedagogical and technological mechanisms. Therefore, AEL'2016 encourages experts to develop novel and imaginative ideas to explore and meet the needs of these above rapidly expanding and exciting fields of research. To the end, AEL'2016 invites high quality submissions and the conference proceedings will be published by IEEE. Topics of interests include but not limited to the following:

Learning and Interaction Technology

  • Wearable technology for learning/interaction
  • Affective learning
  • Neural science and technology for learning
  • Healthy and happy learning technology
  • Interaction design and issue for learning

Do not exceed 6 single-space double column, 8.5 x 11-inch pages (including figures, tables and references) in 11 point Times Roman or similar font. Number each page. Include an abstract, five to ten keywords, the technical area(s) most relevant to your paper, and the corresponding author's e-mail address. Submissions should represent original, substantive research results. We will not accept any paper which, at the time of submission, is under review for or has already been published (or accepted) for publication in another conference or journal.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS (Submission System link) (Download  Paper  Template)

Each paper submitted to AEL'2016 workshop will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition and should be prepared according to the IEEE proceedings template ( It must be no longer than 6 pages and no less than 3 pages in length, including a 200-word abstract, references and tables/figures. Authors should submit their manuscripts in PDF format to AEL2016 in U-Media 2016 through the EasyChair ( by logging in with their EasyChair username and password (non-members may signup for an account) and clicking on "New Submission". If authors have any queries on submissions, please do not hesitate to e-mail, Dr. Jun-Ming Su (, Dr. Wu-Yuin Hwang (, or Prof. Shu-Sheng Shen ().

All accepted and presented papers will appear in the U-Media’2016 conference proceedings, included in the IEEE Computer Society online store and archived by the publication to IEEE-XploreTM and the IEEE Computer Society (CSDL) digital libraries.
